We are an integral part of the Connellsville community, providing much needed support for families, schools, and children.

We are looking for a FULL TIME Parent Educator to work in the Connellsville area, doing home visits.

What are the primary duties and responsibilities?

  • Provides parent education, developmental information and family support to parents through personal home visits
  • Promote the healthy development of children from pregnancy to kindergarten.
  • Utilize the nationally recognized "Parents as Teachers" curriculum to deliver quality home-based early childhood education, developmentally age-appropriate resources and effective child-parent interaction techniques
  • Conduct child developmental screenings including vision, hearing, the understanding and use of language, motor development, hand-eye coordination, and health and physical development.
  • Collaborating with other Child Care Staff to plan and execute fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for the children in the classroom and on the playground;
  • Caring for vulnerable young children when preparing snacks/meals, changing diapers, cleaning and supervising;
  • Safeguarding each child when cleaning the classroom, adhering to the safety and security regulations you learn through our employee development training.

What do you bring?

  • MUST have a Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social services or other related field.
  • Previous experience with children, and this does not have to be in a childcare center! Are you a parent? Have you volunteered with children before? Are you a former or retired teacher? All of these are examples of some of the many ways our staff have experience with children.
  • Willingness to go through (and pass!) the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. The children grow!
  • Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
